In-Person Support for LWSD
It can be hard to reach out to someone when things are overwhelming. But conversation is a powerful coping tool. Talking or texting with someone on an anonymous, private helpline can relieve stress. Call or text 988 for support.
Evergreen Health Social Workers
The LWSD partners with EvergreenHealth to employ social workers at each of its four high schools—Eastlake, Juanita, Lake Washington and Redmond.
The social workers are on site at the high schools to provide crisis intervention, psychosocial and risk assessments, safety planning and brief interventions. They provide ongoing behavioral health support until they are able to connect students with an outside referral.

YES: Youth Eastside Services

YES has a Behavioral Health Support Specialist (BHSS), a counselor trained in mental health and substance abuse, on-site full-time in all 8 LWSD Middle Schools and at many choice schools (i.e., Emerson/Northstar and Tesla STEM) and part-time at International Community School (ICS) and Renaissance. They provide a full spectrum of behavioral health supports.

Students can self-refer or talk to their school counselor or other school staff to be referred. The BHSS also work with school counselors to provide suicide risk assessments and safety planning for students at the middle schools and elementary schools. YES also has a Substance Abuse Prevention and Intervention Specialist who works with students at the four main high schools. Students can self- and peer-refer to her.
